Embotido Recipe for Home Business

Here is a simple recipe for embotido, which can also be sold for additional income. If you are thinking of a home business, this recipe might help since the recipe calls for only a few items.

If you have your own restaurant or karinderya, you might want include this embotido recipe on your menu.


¼ kg. ground pork
 1/3 cup instant oatmeal
¼ cup carrot (cubed)
¼ cup pickle relish
1 medium-sized bell pepper (chopped)
1 small onion (chopped)
2 pcs. eggwhite (beaten)
2 tbsp. skim milk (liquid)
½ cup shredded wheat bread
¼ tsp. ground pepper
1 tsp. grated cheese (low fat)
¼ cup raisins (chopped)
Salt to taste


1. Mix all ingredients and season with salt.

2. Refrigerate or leave in cool place for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

3. After marinating, make a roll of the mixture, about 4 cm. in diameter.

4. Warp in foil or cling wrap. Dust wrap with small amounts of flour before rolling.

5. Steam for at least 40 minutes.

6. Remove from steamer and let cool.

7. Remove from wrapper.

8. Slice and serve with your favorite condiments.


If you want your embotido to be more special, you can add slices of hardboiled egg and sliced frankfurter sausages on the embotido mixture before rolling in wrap.

After steaming, you can store the finished product in the freezer. You can sell the finished product to your neighbors and friends for additional income.
