Mang Tomas Sarsa (Sauce) Ingredients

Mang Tomas is a Filipino brand for the sauce that probably is a well-loved ready-made sauce for any fried foods that one might have. Some of the fried food favorites that you can dip Mang Tomas with are fried pork, fish and even lumpiang shanghai.

However, some would like to make their own recipe that might mimic Mang Tomas Sarsa sauce.

Here are the basic ingredients: (Bottled Version Ingredients, that is.)
Water, Sugar, Bread Crumbs, Vinegar, Salt, Liver, Spices, Pepper and Sodium Benzoate as a Preservative.

“How about the proportions,” you might ask. I’m not affiliated with the company, so I can’t really answer that. However, experimenting would help.

Try my recipe for the Mang Tomas Sarsa recipe and see if it’s close to it.

My Mang Tomas Sarsa Ingredients Version:

1 cup water
3 tbsp. sugar (adjust to your own taste)
¼-½ cup bread crumbs (or according to thickness of sauce desired)
½ to 1 tbsp. vinegar
½ tsp. salt (or according to taste)
½ to 1 small can of plain liver sauce
¼ tsp. of pepper

Procedure:

1. In a cup of boiling water add breadcrumbs and all other ingredients and bring it to a simmer until thick.

2. If the sauce is too thick, just add a little water.

Alternative:

Just buy the bottled one! (Joke only!)

Note:

I did not include the preservative because my version of Manng Tomas's recipe is just for home use and not for commercial one. Refrigerating my version sauce can last up to a week.
